I met Paige Massey in 1981 while he was in the Governor’s office making parole and clemency decisions for Governor Clements. I then came to know Paige as an attorney in private practice in 1983 when he began his practice before the Parole Board. It was undoubtedly his tenure in the Governor’s office which guided him in knowing what to include in his presentations to the Parole Board. He was aware of what the parole files contained and where there was room for additional information to be presented to the Commissioners and Board Members which was not found in the parole files. I found that Paige was always well prepared and took his role very seriously in representing his clients. It was apparent that Paige put a lot of himself in the work he turned out and worked very hard to provide us, the decision makers, with information which we did not already have. I would recommend him to anyone seeking serious parole representation.

I came to know Paige Massey very well when he worked in the Governor’s office in the early 1980’s and I relied upon his legal advice on numerous occasions on a variety of issues. As Chairman of the State Classifications Committee, Paige was one of the few attorneys in private practice with whom I enjoyed working. Paige always had his clients best interests in mind. I remember one time we had an inmate who was a borderline furlough candidate (before the system was scrapped). Paige took it upon himself to pick the inmate up and deliver him back to TDC on time. Paige is committed to his clients and that is an admirable quality to find in a lawyer. I would recommend Paige Massey to anyone who has a relative or friend in TDC.
